Michael O'Donnell-32-died Sunday

Sunday morning my youngest son Michael Patrick passed away.  He was 32 and training for local Marathon race.  He was in good health, had a good attitude and was beginning to find the joy of loving God here in Lawton.  Michael and his wife Joanie have three boys ages 9 to 15.  Ethan, Andrew and the oldest is Christopher.

He was a Mechanical Engineer by trade, a soccer coach, marathon runner and just began a fantastic hobby to raise grass fed farm animals.

Mike was 32 years old and the last of eight brothers and sisters and a good son.

He will be missed but I know our Lord and Savor Jesus has Mike in His bosom.

Butchy's photos

This award winning photo of Butch was taken at my cabin in Pennsylvania.
Mom's Pug, Butch, died Wednesday, Sept. 1. He was just shy of his 6th birthday. He was a great dog, better than what I deserved, and he is greatly missed by his family and friends.
A slideshow of Butch's photos can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/22036136@N07/sets/72157624881534516/show/

van der Goot rose gardens

John, Kathy, Mom and I had a great lunch at Anne & Jerry's, the we went to the van der Goot rose gardens in Franklin Township. Lots of roses and lots of photos. Good thing digital film is cheap :) Here is a link to my Flickr account to view 4 family photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22036136@N07/sets/72157619407293770/ I will post some of the rose photos after I edit and weed thru them.
I was surprised they didn't have the two roses I bought this Spring: the JFK Peace Rose and the Mr. Lincoln.

I ran into Kathy Covone

Hey, I ran into Kathy Covone at our Kiwanis' Police Officer of the Year dinner. I haven't spoken with her in about 40 years. Her family lived next door to us until 1969 when they moved. I thought she stayed in Jackson and graduated with us but she told me that she did her senior year elsewhere and graduated from there.
Her brother Larry is ill. Johnny is fine and so is her sister. (Darn, but I remembered her name last week but can't recall it now.)
